3rd Annual San Francisco Turkish Festival

Organized by the California Turkish American Association (TAAC / CALTURKS), the San Francisco Turkish Festival is one of the most comprehensive platforms for promoting Turkish culture on the Pacific coast. Located in the heart of San Francisco's Financial District—just across from the historic Ferry Building at Embarcadero Plaza—the festival welcomes thousands of visitors each year.

Highlights and Event Program:

Stage Performances: Captivating Whirling Dervish (Sufi) shows accompanied by Turkish mystical music, regional folk dance performances such as Zeybek, Artvin, and Silifke, belly dancing performances, and live concerts featuring Turkish choirs and musicians. Additionally, performances by Azerbaijani, Kazakh, and Uyghur cultural groups showcase the broader heritage of the Turkic world.

Traditional Arts and Exhibition: Stalls set up across the festival grounds feature live demonstrations of Ebru (paper marbling), calligraphy, Kütahya ceramics, and Hereke silk carpet weaving. Special exhibition stands featuring Anatolian Kangal and Akbaş dog breeds also attract strong interest from culture enthusiasts.

Gastronomic Experience: A curated selection of Turkish culinary delights—including döner kebab, freshly baked pastries, baklava, Turkish coffee, and tea—is served by local restaurants and food vendors.

Target Audience and Cultural Bridge: The festival gathers Turkish engineers, entrepreneurs, academics, and business professionals living in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley, alongside culture, art, and gastronomy enthusiasts from the broader American community. Supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in San Francisco and various non-governmental organizations, the event serves as a vital cultural bridge connecting East and West.
