Atletico Madrid made a significant move in the transfer window by adding South Korean international Lee Kang-in to its squad. The club officially announced the signing of the 25-year-old player, who left Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), on a contract running until the end of June 2031.
In a statement, the Rojiblancos said: "Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement on the transfer of Lee Kang-in. The player has signed a contract with our club until June 30, 2031."
Lee Kang-in can play as a left winger and attacking midfielder, and is capable of playing on either flank. Atletico Madrid highlighted the new signing's exceptional ball control, vision, passing, and shooting ability.
The South Korean star is no stranger to La Liga. Having previously played for Valencia and Mallorca, Lee later moved to PSG. In his three seasons with the French side, he made 124 official appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing 16 assists.
During his PSG career, Lee won 11 trophies, including two UEFA Champions League titles, one UEFA Super Cup, one Intercontinental Cup, three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies, and two Trophée des Champions.
Lee made his debut for the South Korean national team in 2019 and has earned 50 caps. The experienced midfielder was also part of the squads for the 2022 Qatar and 2026 USA-Canada-Mexico World Cups, making him a prominent figure on the international stage.
