The global electric vehicle market hit a record level in 2025. Sales reached 20.7 million units, with the global landscape continuing to be shaped by China-based manufacturers. Growth in the market was especially evident in China and Europe. China maintained its leadership with 12.9 million units sold in 2025. Electric vehicle sales in Europe also showed strong annual growth. On the Turkish front, the trend towards electric and hybrid cars accelerated. In the first months of the year, the share of these vehicles in total sales reached remarkable levels. Togg emerged as one of the prominent brands in this transformation. The domestic brand became the leader in Turkey's electric car market and became one of the symbolic names in the country's automotive transformation. The general trend in the sector shows that electric vehicles have moved beyond being just an eco-friendly option to becoming central to the mainstream market. The increase in Turkey is also read as one of the local reflections of this global picture.
