Nvidia CEO Huang said he opposes US bans on the sale of American technology to China. Speaking in an interview with CBS News, Huang also rejected assessments that artificial intelligence will bring about humanity’s end by 2030.
Huang said the probability of this happening was zero and described the warnings as “doomsday scenarios.” He argued that these predictions are not based on science.
He argued that new regulations are unnecessary
Opposing calls for increased oversight of artificial intelligence developers in the United States, Huang said existing measures are sufficient. Huang argued that there is no need for new regulations.

The debate over data centers
Addressing public opposition to the expansion of data centers, Huang said, “We’re sorry we didn’t come earlier to speak with you.”
Claims of a risk to humanity
Jacob Coxon, who had worked as a researcher at OpenAI and Anthropic over the past three years, had resigned from Anthropic, accusing the company of failing to act responsibly enough on artificial intelligence.

Coxon alleged that the companies were engaged in an uncontrolled race to develop artificial intelligence systems capable of improving themselves. He argued that these systems could soon evolve into superhuman systems capable of hacking everything, and also claimed that some industry workers seriously believe AI models could kill humanity within 10 years.
