According to Yeni Şafak's report, Israel is requesting approval from the US to expand its air campaign in Lebanon to include Beirut. The report stated that Israeli officials have made an official application to Washington to enlarge the operational area. It was noted that the Israeli army has also presented various operational plans including airstrikes targeting Beirut. It was expressed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu argued that Beirut should not be excluded from the scope of the attacks. The report also mentioned that scenarios requiring steps for the evacuation of civilians are on the table. However, it was reported that no final approval has been given by the US and no immediate statement has come from American officials on the matter.
