NBA superstar LeBron James is parting ways with the Los Angeles Lakers. Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul announced in a statement to ESPN that James informed the Lakers he will continue his NBA career elsewhere.
The 41-year-old James spent the last eight seasons with the Lakers. The most notable achievement of this period was leading the team to win the NBA championship in 2020.
A four-time NBA Most Valuable Player and the league's all-time leading scorer, James completed a record 23rd NBA season. The 22-time All-Star and four-time NBA champion holds the league's all-time lead in games played (1,622) and total points (43,440).
James averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game this season with the Lakers.
Warriors speculation
As speculation about James' future continues, the Golden State Warriors are expected to make a determined attempt to add the star player to their roster. These claims emerged after Draymond Green declined his player option to create cap space for new additions to the squad.
