Manchester City has reached a long-term agreement with Abdukodir Khusanov, a key figure in the Uzbekistan national team's defense. The club officially announced that the 22-year-old's contract has been extended until the summer of 2031.
Khusanov transferred to Manchester City in January 2025 from Ligue 1 side Lens. The young player, who spent last season in England, made a total of 47 appearances across all competitions for his team, scoring one goal in the process.
In his first season with Manchester City, the Uzbek defender won the FA Cup and the League Cup. In the Premier League, his side finished second, losing the title to Arsenal.
Having earned 30 caps for Uzbekistan at international level, Khusanov also stood out as a key figure in his country's historic qualification for the 2026 World Cup finals, a first in their history.
While Manchester City consolidates its future plans with this signing, the club also agreed a new four-year contract with English star Phil Foden earlier this week.
