Andrew Garfield has picked Tobey Maguire as the best live-action Spider-Man and ranked himself last, during an appearance on British radio station Capital to promote his new film.

The question came in the station’s “There’s the Door” segment, in which guests either answer increasingly awkward questions or walk out. Asked to rank Holland, Maguire and himself from best to worst, Garfield answered right away: “Tobey’s always going to be my number one.”
He said Maguire was his Spider-Man as a drama student, recalling that he used to practice Maguire’s lines in the mirror. “I’m very, very proud of the work that I’ve done in these movies. I love playing that part,” he added, before praising Holland: “Tom is the perfect person for it for his generation, and I think he’s absolutely incredible.” His final order: “Tobey, Tom, then me.”
‘Nothing to do’ with Doomsday

Garfield also brushed off speculation that he will return as Peter Parker in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday. “I’m not part of the movie. I have nothing to do with this film,” he said, admitting his denials carry less weight after he spent about eight months publicly denying his role in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home — which he likened to “an eight-month version of Celebrity Traitors.”
Garfield starred in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and its 2014 sequel, while Maguire led Sam Raimi’s trilogy and Holland has played the role since 2016. Garfield is currently promoting Paul Greengrass’s The Uprising, a historical epic about England’s 1381 Peasants’ Revolt.
