US President Donald Trump on Friday unveiled the interior design of a limited-edition new US passport to be issued in honor of the country's 250th anniversary of independence.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump showed that one page of the passport features his photo and the phrase "Welcome, but behave!" Another page features a depiction of the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence and the inscription "United States of America 250."
A State Department official who spoke to Fox News Digital said the new designs will be offered to all American citizens applying for passports and will continue until stocks run out.
The passports are planned to be released this summer. The move comes as part of the Trump administration's "America250" celebrations. The celebrations include a Grand Prix race on the National Mall in August and a UFC fight held earlier this month on the South Lawn of the White House.
Coincides with stricter visa policies
Trump's passport launch coincides with a period when the US has implemented stricter inspection policies for foreign visitors. The new rules explicitly require tourists and non-immigrants to respect and comply with US laws and institutions.
The tightened rules coincide with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will end in July, when hundreds of thousands of foreigners come to the US to watch matches.
