US dollar and gold rise as BIST 100 ends the week lower
The BIST 100 index ended the week at 12,265.98 points, down 0.03%, while the selling price of 24-carat bullion gold rose to 6,645 liras per gram. The US dollar rose, while the euro declined.
The BIST 100 index stood at 12,265.98 points at the close of the final trading session of the week. The index traded between 12,038.79 and 12,528.60 points during the week, declining 0.03% from the previous week's close.
Gold prices rose
At the Grand Bazaar, the selling price of 24-carat bullion gold rose 0.48% to 6,645 liras per gram. The selling price of a Republic gold coin also increased 0.14% to 43,310 liras.
The quarter gold coin ended the week at 10,883 liras, up 0.21% from its price of 10,860 liras at the end of the previous week.
US dollar rises, euro declines
The US dollar gained 0.63% on a weekly basis, rising to 49.3430 liras. The euro declined 0.39% to 55.2490 liras.
Investment funds lost 0.15%, while pension funds gained 0.31%. Among investment funds, the highest return was recorded in the Debt Instruments Funds category, at 0.66%.
