US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on social media that Tom Barrak's title as special envoy for Syria has ended. Rubio noted that Barrak played an important role as Syria Special Envoy. Despite the end of his title, Barrak will continue his duties as the US Ambassador to Turkey. Rubio emphasized that Barrak will remain in a leading position in both Syria and Iraq and that his expertise and relations will continue to bring successes in line with America's interests. Additionally, claims emerged that Israel did not want Barrak to comment on or communicate about Syria and Lebanon issues.
