Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha said he had lost the peace and privacy of his personal life after receiving growing attention from the football world.
The 40-year-old player said that if he had to choose between the life he leads today and his previous life, he would choose his old life. Vozinha said even ordinary tasks had become difficult, explaining that people at restaurants asked to take photos with him and for his autograph.

Vozinha said the biggest change in his life came after he signed with Chilean side Colo-Colo in August, when people began filming him. The experienced goalkeeper said there was not much he could do to change the situation.
He turned off his Instagram notifications
Vozinha said he had lost his privacy and turned off his Instagram notifications so he would not constantly feel the urge to check who was following him.

The goalkeeper said he did not know much about Instagram and had lost his peace and quiet. Vozinha said a person working in the team’s catering department told him that he had 1 billion followers, which he initially thought was a joke. He later said he saw on his phone’s screen that his follower count had exceeded 1 million.
Cape Verde were eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup after losing 3-2 to Argentina in the round of 32. Vozinha became one of the team’s symbolic figures at the tournament, which attracted attention from the football community.
