ASELSAN beats US rivals to become strategic supplier for NATO air defense system
Turkish defense company ASELSAN signed a framework agreement, leaving global giants behind in NATO's critical Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) tender. Deliveries of the national system to NATO countries will begin within a few months.
Turkey's defense industry giant ASELSAN has been selected as one of five distinguished companies in NATO's strategic procurement process for air defense. With this decision, deliveries of the national system to Alliance countries are planned to begin.
ASELSAN achieved a significant success against the world's leading companies in NATO's critical Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) tender. The company left its global rivals behind by signing a framework agreement for its Portable IFF Interrogator IDENTA 4000I solution.
While deliveries to NATO countries are expected to begin within a few months, this move has paved the way for future IFF needs of alliance members to be met by ASELSAN. The agreement strengthens the strategic position of the Turkish defense industry in the NATO supply chain.
