City of Cape Town Disaster Risk Management officials announced that floodings were reported in many areas including Khayelitsha, Mitchells Plain, and surroundings. Additionally, damage to roofs and floods occurred in formal settlements such as Lavender Hill, Gugulethu, Philippi, and Wynberg.
Road closures, power outages, and fallen trees negatively affected transportation and daily life across the city. Rockfalls were reported on important routes like Chapman’s Peak and Ou Kaapse Weg. In the Parow area, a person was injured after a tree fell on a vehicle.
