CBS News did not renew the contract of '60 Minutes' program reporter Sharyn Alfonsi. Alfonsi announced that her contract ended after the report on torture in prisons in Salvador was removed from the program. Alfonsi said she received no response from CBS during negotiations and that this sent a chilling message to the newsroom. She stated that she believes she was punished for refusing to do accurate journalism. CBS News did not comment on Alfonsi's future. The program's editor Bari Weiss is planning significant changes for '60 Minutes'; working on innovations such as adding new contributors, preparing digital short segments, and organizing live events.
