The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that since the start of the naval blockade, 141 commercial ships linked to Iran have been redirected, and 9 ships have been disabled.
The command stated that the measures taken as of June 13 aim to maintain order in maritime traffic. The statement emphasized that the application covers all countries' ships entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas.
Iran’s ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman are included in this scope. However, it was noted that the international trade corridor remains open for transit passage for other ships.
This development follows previous reports that Iran sent several drones to commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting renewed pressure on maritime security and trade flow in the region.
