President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered messages on the climate crisis, the Zero Waste Movement and Türkiye’s regional position during his address to the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Erdoğan said there are many ways to tackle the climate crisis, describing the Zero Waste Movement as a key initiative bringing these efforts together.
“There are undoubtedly many ways to fight the climate crisis. The Zero Waste Movement is the strongest bridge where all these paths converge,” Erdoğan said.
Calling for greater international support for the initiative, Erdoğan added, “I believe that with your support, this bridge will become even stronger.”
The Turkish president’s remarks brought renewed attention to Türkiye’s efforts to promote the Zero Waste initiative internationally and strengthen global cooperation on environmental sustainability.
Erdoğan: Türkiye Remains an Island of Stability
Erdoğan also addressed Türkiye’s position amid regional conflicts, pointing to the country’s growing defense industry and what he described as an economy resilient to external shocks.
“With its developing defense industry and its economy resilient to shocks, Türkiye continues to remain an island of stability amid conflicts,” Erdoğan said.
