A shooting occurred at the headquarters of federal immigration authorities in the US state of Arizona. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has launched an investigation into the gunfire at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building in Phoenix.
According to a statement from the FBI's Phoenix field office, the attack occurred on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in the afternoon at the Detention and Deportation Operations building on North Central Avenue. Shots fired by one or more unidentified individuals struck the exterior of the building.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Footage shared by local media showed multiple bullet holes in the building's windows.
The attack came at a time when the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a sharp increase in attacks on ICE personnel. Citing this increase, DHS announced it would require all officers on ICE arrest teams to wear body cameras.
A DHS spokesperson said, "Ensuring that ICE law enforcement officers have body cameras nationwide is a top priority for DHS – especially considering the over 1,300% increase in attacks on our law enforcement and over 3,300% increase in vehicular attacks."
The FBI asked anyone with information about the attack to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip at tips.fbi.gov. The motive for the attack has not yet been disclosed, and no information about the suspect or suspects has been released.
