The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will host a Super Bowl-style halftime show on US soil. As Spain and Argentina meet at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, a show featuring world-famous stars will be presented at halftime.
FIFA announced on Friday that it has extended the halftime break of the final match from the usual 15 minutes to 17 minutes due to the special show. This decision put an end to earlier reports that the halftime could be extended to up to 30 minutes.
The artistic show, planned to last about 11 minutes, will be directed by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. It will feature Shakira, Madonna, BTS, Burna Boy and Justin Bieber. The remaining time will be used for stage setup and watering the pitch, which has been criticized throughout the tournament.
Spain aims to win its second world championship after its 2010 triumph. Argentina, captained by Lionel Messi, will try to defend its title and secure a second consecutive and fourth overall cup.
