Familiar voices will accompany visitors on the audio tours prepared for the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. Oprah Winfrey and Tom Hanks will be featured in the audio guide narrating different sections of the center.
On the campus tour, Winfrey will narrate the section explaining how the 19-acre area was built and the roots of the neighborhood. This tour also features Barack and Michelle Obama, artist Richard Hunt, chef Cliff Rome, and NBA star Stephen Curry.
In the interactive version for children, Cree Summer will voice Barack and Michelle Obama's dogs, Bo and Sunny. It is noted that this section is prepared for elementary school-aged visitors.
Tom Hanks will narrate the museum tour. This section highlights important moments from the Obama family's years in the White House as well as Barack Obama's campaign and presidency.
The center will also have an audio guide focused on disability. This tour will be narrated by Kareem Dale, who was a special assistant on disability policies during Barack Obama's tenure.
The guides available in the Bloomberg Connects app will include a separate section dedicated to the center's artworks. This section will be introduced by Michelle Obama and will include the artists' comments behind the works.
Valerie Jarrett, CEO of the Obama Foundation, said the campus audio guide was prepared to enhance the visitor experience. Jarrett expressed that through exhibitions, storytelling, interactive spaces, art, and programs across the campus, people will see what can be achieved together.
The Obama Presidential Center is planned to open on June 19 in Jackson Park in Chicago's South Side area.
