Robert Mnuchin's 106-year-old townhouse, known as an art gallery and located at 45 East 78th Street, has been put up for sale at 35 million dollars. Sotheby’s recently offered artworks worth 166.3 million dollars from Mnuchin’s collection for sale. Mnuchin and his wife Adriana purchased this historic property in 1983 and, after an 18-month renovation, used it both as a home and an art gallery. Mnuchin, who left Goldman Sachs in 1990, opened the gallery in 1992 and remained actively involved in the art world until his death in 2025. The gallery hosted works by prominent artists such as Willem De Kooning and Jeff Koons. Now, the Mnuchin family has closed the gallery doors and put the space up for sale. The townhouse, with an area of 17,600 square feet, features nine bedrooms, four full bathrooms, a rooftop terrace, and a private elevator. Additionally, this space, filled with memories of family life, offers new owners the opportunity to have both a private residence and a prestigious art gallery.
