The Social Security Administration will send four rounds of benefit payments in November, with the first arriving on Tuesday, Nov. 3, which is also Election Day. That round goes to people who started receiving benefits before May 1997 and to those who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
Under the normal schedule, beneficiaries born between the 1st and the 10th of the month are paid on the second Wednesday. This month that date is Nov. 11, Veterans Day, a federal holiday when banks are closed, so the payment moves up to Tuesday, Nov. 10. It is the regular November benefit, not an extra check.

Beneficiaries born between the 11th and the 20th will be paid on Wednesday, Nov. 18, and those born between the 21st and the 31st on Wednesday, Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving. Spousal and survivor benefits follow the birthday of the worker whose record the benefit is paid on.
SSI recipients will not see a deposit in November: because Nov. 1 fell on a Sunday, the agency sent November's SSI payment early, on Friday, Oct. 30. The next SSI payments come on Dec. 1 and Dec. 31. The Dec. 31 deposit, which is January's benefit, will be the first to include the 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment, raising the maximum federal SSI payment for an individual from $994 to $1,029 a month. The SSA advises waiting three mailing days before contacting the agency about a missing payment.
