US authorities arrested social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate in Miami following an extradition request from the UK. The US Marshals Service announced the operation, carried out on Sunday in Florida on a sealed arrest warrant.
The UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has brought 19 additional charges against Andrew Tate, including seven counts of rape, three of human trafficking, three of assault, and extreme pornography involving indecent images of children. Tristan Tate faces one count of sexual assault, two of rape, and three of arranging or facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
The brothers were previously facing 21 charges in the UK, including rape, human trafficking, and actual bodily harm, involving three victims. With the new charges, the total number of victims has risen to seven, and the alleged offenses occurred between July 2010 and August 2017.

The brothers' lawyer, Joseph McBride, told AFP he believes his clients will be released. McBride said, 'We are confident that when a competent judge sees the facts and the Department of Justice confronts this horrific abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will be freed.'
The Tate brothers fled Romania after being arrested there in 2022. They face separate, unrelated rape and human trafficking charges in Romania.
The brothers, who rose to fame by flaunting a luxurious lifestyle on online platforms, had drawn widespread criticism even before their legal troubles for behavior described as aggressive and misogynistic. Despite the controversies, they have a large following in the US. In 2025, it was reported that a White House official intervened to protect them after US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized their electronic devices.
Both Andrew and Tristan Tate deny all charges against them.
