Tropical Storm Edouard is expected to make landfall in the U.S. state of Texas, with forecasts warning that the storm could bring heavy rainfall and flooding to parts of Texas and Louisiana.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center issued a warning about Edouard’s potential impacts. Officials said Texas was preparing for the storm’s effects and described Edouard as the first major storm of the season.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said flooding posed the greatest danger from Edouard. Expected heavy rainfall could increase the risk of flooding in parts of Texas and Louisiana.
