U.S. President Donald Trump, who is weighing his options in the ongoing war with Iran, said that “very big developments” would occur in the near future if Tehran did not change its stance and announced that he had reached a critical decision point.
Speaking in a television interview, Trump listed completely destroying the country, allowing its economy to collapse or reaching an agreement as his options regarding Iran. He reiterated his approach toward Iran by saying, “They should behave better.”

Possibility of meeting with Pezeshkian
Responding to a question about the United Nations General Assembly’s high-level week, Trump said he would “probably be open” to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly is being held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from September 18 to 28. The general debate is scheduled to take place from September 22 to 28.
Washington’s communication with the Houthis
Trump said Washington had been in constant communication with the Houthis in Yemen following the latest ballistic missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia. He claimed that the Houthis had agreed to avoid engaging in conflict with U.S. forces.

Trump had previously claimed that the war with Iran would end after the midterm elections scheduled for November.

The U.S. Department of State issued a travel advisory on Sunday as tensions in the region escalated.
The advisory said that Iran and groups supporting Iran could target U.S. interests, businesses and institutions worldwide. The department also warned that locations connected to Americans could be targeted.
