The Turkish defense industry has developed a new acoustic system capable of detecting and tracking drones by using the sounds of their motors and propellers. This system can also operate with portable energy sources like power banks due to its low energy consumption. The developed technology can determine the presence and direction of drones with a margin of error of 5 degrees. An average drone measuring 50 centimeters can be continuously tracked from a distance of 570 meters with the system. The system operates on a passive principle, unlike active radars, it does not send signals and only works as a listener. This keeps energy consumption very low while allowing the 360-degree horizontal and vertical direction of drones to be clearly detected. The system can also be used as an acoustic radar by integrating with camera sensors and destruction tools. Additionally, when placed in parallel in areas that may pose a threat, it has the potential to provide early warning from kilometers away. The device, weighing approximately 1 kilogram, enables teams operating in the field to receive early warnings against drone attacks.
