Türkiye's Ministry of National Education has released a new seven-level textbook set for Turkish students living abroad, prepared under the 2026 Turkish Language and Turkish Culture curriculum. The books were published on the ministry's Ülkem Yanımda platform.
The ministry's mother-tongue program, which runs in Germany, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy and Montenegro, expanded this year with in-person Turkish classes in Japan. Close to 800 teachers now teach nearly 50,000 students in eight countries.

The level-based books are designed by age and proficiency to strengthen listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. They cover national and religious holidays, traditions, historical figures, sports, art, traditional games, science and technology, aiming to help children connect what they learn with their own lives.
The ministry said the books treat Turkish not only as a school subject but as a living link to family, history and cultural roots, helping students preserve their language and identity within the diverse societies they live in.
