Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree dismissing Ukraine's ambassador to Washington, Olga Stefanişina.
The decree published by Zelensky's office stated: "Olga Vitalievna Stefanişina is dismissed from the post of Ukraine's Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the United States."
Following the dismissal decision, Stefanişina said in a statement that her resignation was entirely her own and "stemmed from personal reasons." In a post on her Facebook page, she said, "I will continue to work for Ukraine where I can be useful."

Ukraine's official news agency UNN had previously announced on July 13 that Stefanişina had requested to leave her post for personal reasons and that Zelensky had approved the request. Stefanişina later clarified that Zelensky had not asked her to resign.
Olga Stefanişina had been serving as US ambassador since August 27, 2025.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian parliament member Aleksey Gonçarenko claimed, citing sources, that Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) might bring charges against Stefanişina.
