Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg says personal AI agents will become universal within five years. “Everyone is going to have an agent that really intimately understands your goals and everything around you and can help you get stuff done,” Zuckerberg said in a roughly 50-minute conversation with tech creator Jacklyn Dallas on her YouTube show “The Next Big Thing,” published on September 24.
The prediction echoes what he told investors on Meta’s July 29 earnings call, when he said it was “extremely unlikely, if you look out five years from now, that you don’t have billions of people with a personal agent that understands your goals, and that is just working on your behalf 24/7 to achieve your goals.”

Meta launched its personal AI agent, Muse, on September 8. The assistant can book plane tickets, reply to emails, compile research briefs and cancel unused subscriptions on a user’s behalf. Zuckerberg has described the goal as giving “every person in the world a very capable personal agent,” with WhatsApp and Messenger positioned as the place most people will meet it; more than 1 million businesses were already using Meta’s AI agents on its messaging apps as of July.
