2026 FIFA World Cup sets attendance record with 3.6 million fans
FIFA has announced that the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, has set a new attendance record with 3.6 million fans. The previous record was set at the 1994 World Cup hosted by the United States.
FIFA has announced a new attendance record at the 2026 World Cup. In the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, and featuring 48 teams for the first time, 3.6 million ticketed fans have so far filled stadiums.
The previous record was set at the 1994 World Cup hosted by the United States with 3,587,538 fans. The new figure has surpassed that historic attendance number.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino highlighted the high occupancy rate in stands: 'The most successful tournament in history. Stadiums are full, cities are full, the atmosphere is fantastic.'
The tournament, held across 16 stadiums, will conclude with the final match on July 19.
