Maximilian Krah, a leading figure of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, commented on the meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and former US President Donald Trump in Ankara.
Krah said these images revealed the enormous strategic importance Turkey has gained. The AfD lawmaker claimed that Germany, traditionally Turkey's closest partner, risks missing this development.
Attributing Germany's failure to seize this opportunity to the country being governed by 'absolute amateurs', Krah hinted in his statement that the US has taken the lead in diplomatic relations with Ankara.
