APIG has filed a complaint with the competition authority over the artificial intelligence summaries used by Google in its search results. The organization represents more than 300 local and national press organizations in France.
APIG said the summaries are affecting internet users' search behavior and reducing direct access to news sources.

Press organizations concerned about losses in clicks and revenue
Artificial intelligence-powered search engines allow users to find the information they are seeking without visiting websites. In APIG's assessment, this is reducing click-through rates for news and media websites.
French press organizations have taken action to prevent artificial intelligence technologies from negatively affecting their visibility and revenue in search engines.
