Turkish-American journalist and The Young Turks founder Cenk Uygur claimed that North Korea built eight nuclear bombs during Donald Trump’s first presidential term and that the United States did nothing about it. “Do you know why we did nothing about it? Because we are not worried about nuclear weapons at all. Our only worry is carrying out Israel’s orders,” Uygur said.
“If it is in our interest that no new country should have nuclear weapons, then why didn’t we attack them?” he asked. Uygur made the remarks in a debate broadcast on Mario Nawfal’s show alongside Will Chamberlain, host of Counterweight.
Uygur has repeatedly criticized US policy toward Iran, arguing that Washington applies a different standard to Israel. The figure of eight bombs is Uygur’s own claim.
