DoorDash is in exclusive talks to acquire Instacart, people familiar with the matter said, in a deal that would bring together two of the biggest delivery platforms in the United States. The talks are at an early stage and could still collapse.
Instacart is valued at roughly $12 billion. A typical acquisition premium could put the price at around $15 billion, although no price has been agreed. Instacart declined to comment.

Uber had also been reported as a possible suitor for Instacart, but its interest has reportedly cooled. A combination of DoorDash's restaurant delivery business with Instacart's grocery network would likely face close scrutiny from antitrust regulators.
