England national team captain Harry Kane revealed that he played a round of golf with US President Donald Trump in Florida about 18 months ago. Kane said the unusual meeting took place in Palm Beach at Trump's personal invitation.
"When the US President invites you, it becomes a surreal experience; meeting him and then playing together on the golf course," said Kane, who also described the experience as "extraordinary." The English star added, "I would say I played well."
Kane also praised the 80-year-old Trump's golfing abilities. "To be fair, his golf level is very good. I hope I can play at the same level when I reach his age," he said. He stressed that he was grateful for the invitation.
Trump had previously congratulated Kane on social media as a "great player" after England beat Mexico to reach the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.
Kane's remarks came as England prepared to face Norway in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup. The English captain is gearing up for the match with the aim of leading his country to the world title.
