Fenne Lily is returning with her new album Win Win, which will be released this fall. The UK-linked singer-songwriter based in Brooklyn is starting a new era following her 2023 album Big Picture. The first track from the album, "Uh Huh," was released. The song describes the emotional transition after the end of a relationship; although the person is ready to love again, they face the traces left by the previous heartbreak. Lily says that the use of the third person singular was decisive while writing the song. According to her, this choice, although it seems like telling the life of a close person, actually allowed summarizing the emotional cycle of a character separate from that person. The artist describes the period behind the song as the process after a breakup. She emphasizes that during this process, one can be open to love again while the pain left by the previous relationship continues. Lily states that every breakup feels like a permanent pain, but most of the time it takes a person to a different and sometimes better place. This feeling of transformation also stands out in the lyrics of the song. According to the artist, one of the most important lines of the track was the one that says if there is only one life, it should be lived as it is. She says she was in a good mood when she wrote this line and that a lot changed within a few months. The part meaning "You never want to doubt again, but when you live it for the last time, you realize it won't kill you" also carries the essence of the song. Lily expresses that this feeling describes the tension between wanting love to be permanent and being able to turn to another love if it is not. "Uh Huh" underwent significant changes from the writing stage to the recording. Lily knew from the start that the song needed to have a strong rhythm, and to achieve this, they worked with several different band arrangements, with James completing the missing link on drums. It is also noted that the track has more country influence than her other songs from the beginning. The artist explains that this comes from having absorbed something from the America she lived in, and although the song approaches an American country vibe, it remains on a unique path. The Win Win album was recorded as the product of an 18-month work. Most of the album was prepared by playing live and partially recorded to tape. The tracklist of the album includes "Uh Huh," "Room To Room," "Sleeping," "Waterslide," "Stranger Things," "Thank You Sorry," "Franz," "Two Ways," "Cupboard Song," and "In Life And On Planes." It was announced that the Win Win album will be released on October 23.
