Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met El Salvador’s Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill Tinoco at the Turkish House (Türkevi) in New York on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly.
Following the talks, Türkiye and El Salvador signed an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation, which is intended to keep businesses and individuals active in both countries from being taxed twice on the same income.

The meeting was part of a series of bilateral talks Fidan held in New York. He also met Venezuelan Foreign Minister Felix Plasencia at the Turkish House, as well as Guinea-Bissau’s Foreign Minister Fatumata Jau.
Hill has served as El Salvador’s foreign minister since 2019.
