Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the United States has shown no will to fulfill its commitments following the strike on the Dahiyeh area in southern Beirut.
Lacks Determination or Capacity
In a post on his X account on Sunday, Ghalibaf stated the attack once again revealed that Washington either lacks the determination to implement its obligations or does not have the power to do so.
In his message directed at the US, Ghalibaf said giving space to Israel will yield no results and referenced a "good cop, bad cop" game.
The Iranian politician also said that if the US does not have the will and capacity to fulfill its commitments, there is no point in continuing along this line.
Strike Seen as Sabotage Attempt
The remarks came immediately after Israel launched another strike on Beirut's southern suburbs on Sunday. This strike was assessed as a violation of the ceasefire.
The latest strike was noted to be seen as an attempt to sabotage a memorandum of understanding being prepared and worked on between Iran and the US through Pakistani mediation.
Iran has reportedly made the preservation of the ceasefire in Lebanon one of the conditions for the completion of a possible agreement.
Ghalibaf's message brought Iran's distrust of the US back to the forefront at a time when discussions continue over the ceasefire remaining on paper while being violated on the ground.
