Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan chaired the Annual Coordination Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Fidan presided over the meeting in his capacity as chair of the 51st Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, bringing together foreign ministers and senior representatives from OIC member states.
The meeting provided a platform for participating countries to discuss regional and international developments affecting the Islamic world and to coordinate their positions during the UN General Assembly’s High-Level Week.

Türkiye hosted the 51st Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul in June 2025 and subsequently assumed the rotating chairmanship.
The OIC Council of Foreign Ministers serves as one of the organization’s principal decision-making bodies after the Islamic Summit and addresses political, economic, humanitarian and other issues concerning its member states.

During his New York visit, Fidan participated in several bilateral and multilateral meetings, including a Türkiye-Syria-Saudi Arabia trilateral foreign ministers’ meeting and the MIKTA Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
He also took part in coordination meetings with foreign ministers from several countries as Türkiye continued its diplomatic engagements during UN General Assembly High-Level Week.
