Turkish defense industry company HAVELSAN continues its efforts to strengthen NATO's technological capabilities. The company's General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar, speaking at the Defense Industry Forum held as part of the 36th NATO Leaders Summit in Ankara, stated that HAVELSAN is developing solutions compatible with the alliance's programs.
Nacar stated that the company develops simulation technologies, command and control systems, cybersecurity, military software, and system integration solutions. He said these products are manufactured to meet the modern combat needs of the Turkish Armed Forces and international partners.
HAVELSAN signed its first contract with NATO last year. Following the export of network planning software for a tactical data link management center, the company's products annually receive accreditation certificates at CWIX exercises, which test interoperability among NATO countries.
Emphasizing that future combat management systems will be based on artificial intelligence technologies, Nacar announced that HAVELSAN has developed a closed AI system for defense purposes. He stated that this system provides decision support by analyzing radar, sensor, and weapon data, and can perform some tasks autonomously. Nacar said, 'These technologies are attracting increasing interest within NATO.'
Nacar also noted that HAVELSAN is conducting a surveillance system project for a country's coast guard in the Black Sea, and that they are providing training and simulation systems for the Hürjet project jointly carried out by TUSAŞ with Spain.
The 36th NATO Leaders Summit began in Ankara with the Defense Industry Forum focusing on transatlantic production and investments.
