It has not yet been decided in Moscow whether Russian President Vladimir Putin will travel to the G20 Summit scheduled to take place in Miami, United States, in December. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said it was not yet known whether Putin would go to Miami.
Yury Ushakov, the Kremlin’s foreign policy adviser, also said that the possibility of Putin attending the summit had not yet been discussed.
Putin’s attendance at the summit had been raised previously
The Kremlin said in April that Putin could attend the G20 Summit. The statement came after U.S. President Donald Trump said Putin’s attendance at the summit would be highly beneficial.
Moscow responds to Zelenskyy’s proposal
Peskov also responded to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement that he would travel to Miami and seek a meeting with the Russian president if Putin attended the summit.
The Kremlin spokesperson reiterated Moscow’s long-standing position, saying that Zelenskyy should come to Moscow if he wanted to meet with Putin.
