CENTCOM, which said the maritime blockade in the Strait of Hormuz remains in place, announced that 100 commercial ships had their routes changed within 60 days of the blockade's reinstatement.
The command said that no ship without authorization from U.S. forces had passed through the blockade. CENTCOM described the operation against Iran as the "Steel Wall" blockade.
The blockade resumed on July 14
The U.S. maritime blockade of Iran began on April 13. The operation was suspended on June 18 under an agreement between the two countries and resumed on July 14 following an announcement by the U.S. military after the basis for the agreement had disappeared.
