Milan signs Goncalo Ramos for record 74 million euros
Italian Serie A side Milan has signed Portuguese striker Goncalo Ramos on a contract running through summer 2031. The club paid 74 million euros to Paris Saint-Germain for the 25-year-old.
Italian Serie A club Milan has officially announced the transfer of Portuguese striker Goncalo Ramos. The Rossoneri have signed the 25-year-old forward from Paris Saint-Germain on a contract through 2031.
In a statement on its website, Milan said: "AC Milan announces that Goncalo Matias Ramos has been transferred from Paris Saint-Germain. The Portuguese forward has signed a contract with the club through June 30, 2031."
Ramos' career journey
Ramos joined PSG from Benfica in the summer of 2023 for 65 million euros. In three seasons in France, the Portuguese player made 131 appearances across all competitions, scoring 45 goals and providing 10 assists.
Anadolu Agency reported that Ramos won 3 Ligue 1 titles, 2 French Cups, and 3 Trophee des Champions with Paris Saint-Germain, as well as 2 UEFA Champions League victories, 1 UEFA Super Cup, and 1 Intercontinental Cup.
Record transfer fee
Italian media reported that Milan paid PSG a fixed fee of 74 million euros for the transfer, with bonuses potentially taking the total to 90 million euros.
This fee is the highest ever paid by an Italian club for a forward. Inter Milan made a similar outlay in 2020, signing Belgian Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United for 74 million euros.
Milan finished fifth in Serie A last season, missing out on Champions League qualification. The club had been searching for a striker capable of making the team competitive both domestically and in Europe.
