A house fire in Las Vegas was prevented from turning into a potential disaster thanks to the intervention of an unidentified hero. In the early hours of July 5, a passerby noticed flames at a home in the Las Vegas Valley and woke the sleeping family.
Security camera footage shows the person running to the door, ringing the bell, and pounding on it while shouting "Fire!" Homeowner Danna Shabtai told Fox News Digital that she woke up to her dog barking, and when she opened the door, the stranger pointed to the flames in the backyard. Shabtai said, "I saw an orange wall through the French doors," realizing the fire was much more serious than she had thought.
Fighting the fire and the mysterious disappearance
Shabtai said her sister grabbed the garden hose and started spraying the flames, while she scooped up her 14-month-old son and ran to wake the neighbors. Meanwhile, the mysterious stranger took a hose from the front of a neighbor's house and tried to put out the fire. Shabtai said, "He didn't just wake us up; he tried to extinguish the fire together with my sister."
After the fire was brought under control, the person who saved the family quietly disappeared. The family does not know who he is.

Possible cause of the fire and social media appeal
Danna Shabtai believes the fire may have been caused by fireworks set off by children on the night of July 4. She said a spark that landed on her neighbor's pergola may have smoldered for hours before igniting. However, authorities have not yet announced the official cause of the fire.
The family has started posting on social media to reach the person who saved their lives. In an earlier statement to Fox 5 Las Vegas, Shabtai said, "You are an angel. You saved our lives. You didn't have to stop, you could have passed by, but you stopped and woke us up. You are a hero."
Shabtai also reacted to the use of fireworks in a Facebook post after the fire, saying, "Leave fireworks to the professionals. This man who happened to pass by saved our lives and our neighbors' lives."
