The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has shared 40 new documents, videos, and photos related to unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) and UFOs with the public. This release took place as part of the declassification process initiated by former President Donald Trump in February.
Among the documents, a notable report describes a breach at the Pantex nuclear facility in Texas in September 2015. In the incident, where an unidentified object entered the facility's airspace, operations were halted for security reasons. Two personnel tracked the object, but it was noted that no sound came from it and no propulsion system could be detected.
Mysterious Objects and Witness Statements
Among the released materials is a video from 2020. The video shows an object about 3.5 to 4 meters long gliding through the air. Witness statements describe the object as a "shapeless balloon."
On the Pentagon's official website for this topic, war.gov/UFO/, dozens of videos, images, statements from civilian and military witnesses, investigation materials, and official reports are publicly accessible. The first batch of documents was released on May 8.
Process Initiated by Trump's Directive
Former President Donald Trump said in a statement in February that he would instruct relevant departments and agencies to identify, declassify, and share with the public government documents related to UFOs and extraterrestrial life. The new document package released by the Pentagon is seen as a result of this directive.
