Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that if the United States adheres to the memorandum of understanding, his country will also fulfill its commitments. Pezeshkian emphasized that Tehran's approach is rational, but defense will be resolute when necessary.
In a post on his social media account, Pezeshkian said, "Understanding is a two-way matter. If the American side sticks to the memorandum of understanding, we will fulfill our commitments."
The Iranian president stated, "In the face of irrational bluffs and baseless threats, our approach relies on rationality and human dignity in decision-making, and decisive and courageous defense when it comes to action."
The statement came after new military clashes that strained the June 18 ceasefire agreement between Iran and the US. Iran's Revolutionary Guards struck US military targets in Kuwait and Bahrain on Sunday in retaliation for American airstrikes. Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the US attacks as a clear violation of the agreement.
