Russia responded with a harsh accusation to French President Emmanuel Macron's pledge to increase support for Ukraine. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova described Macron's statement as an order for Kiev to carry out a 'terror attack'.
In a statement on the social media platform X on Wednesday, August 5, Macron announced that the European Union and its partners would continue to systematically increase military support to Ukraine and strengthen sanctions and political pressure on Moscow.

Speaking immediately after this statement, Zakharova said, 'By calling for increased pressure on Russia, Macron is openly giving orders to carry out 'terror acts' against civilians.'
Zakharova leveled another heavy accusation at the French government, saying, 'France should know that its government is directly involved in terrorist activities against women and children.'
