The Russian government has decided to extend the temporary ban on gasoline exports to control fuel prices in the domestic market. According to the decision, the ban on gasoline exports will remain in effect until January 31, 2027.
The government statement emphasized that the main purpose of this decision is to ensure price stability in the domestic market. However, an exemption has been introduced for exports of diesel, marine fuel, and gas oil starting September 1. Producers will be able to export these products.
All shipments made under international intergovernmental agreements will also be excluded from the ban. Recently in Russia, many facilities were taken offline for maintenance due to attacks by Ukrainian drones on oil refineries, and fuel sales restrictions were imposed in some regions. The government had previously taken measures banning gasoline and diesel exports.
