U.S. President Donald Trump blamed Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney for tensions between Canada and the United States.
In a statement posted on his social media accounts on Thursday, Trump claimed that Canada’s economy could collapse as the trade dispute between the two countries continues.
Trump also criticized Canadian leaders for calling him an “enemy,” arguing that this political choice was very misguided and that they would suffer the consequences of the decision.

Carney had said that negotiations over the tariff dispute between the United States and Canada had reached an impasse, adding that the door remained open to restarting dialogue.
