U.S. President Donald Trump sent a stern message to Iran after an Iranian missile and drone attack targeted a U.S. base in Jordan. In a statement on his Truth Social platform, Trump said, "Whenever Iran kills a U.S. soldier, it will pay a heavy price for that killing!" and added that this directive had been conveyed to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Daniel Caine, and other military leaders.
The attack was carried out on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, resulting in the deaths of three U.S. soldiers and one soldier going missing. Two of the fallen soldiers have been identified: 25-year-old Lieutenant Tyler James Feehan of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and 19-year-old Private Isabella Gonzales of Carrollton, Texas. According to the U.S. military, Gonzales was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment in Ansbach, Germany, while Feehan served with the 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Feehan succumbed to his wounds on Saturday.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that a third soldier remains missing and that unidentified human remains found at the attack site are being examined for forensic identification. Four other U.S. soldiers were wounded in the attack; they were treated at a hospital in Jordan and later discharged.
The incident shows that tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to escalate in the region. Both sides have recently engaged in reciprocal military moves.
